Expanding recreation space for South Australians by opening reservoir reserves across the state for complementary, site-suitable recreational use and enjoyment is a state government priority.
A multi-agency taskforce, appointed by the Minister for Environment and Water, is overseeing the opening of the areas surrounding Happy Valley Reservoir – as part of the new Glenthorne National Park – the Barossa Reservoir plus Myponga, South Para, Warren and Hope Valley. Public access is also being considered for reservoir sites in the state’s mid-north, on Kangaroo Island and the Eyre Peninsula.
Enjoying outdoor activities at reservoir reserves is a great way to spend time with family and friends. As we plan access we’d love to hear from you. Your feedback will help us balance outdoor fun with the reliable supply of drinking water for South Australians. You're invited to join the conversation by taking the two-minute survey at Water Talks.
